Fruity Rieslings

Fruity Rieslings are aromatic symphonies, with the delicious harmonization of fruit, raciness, minerality, and exceptional natural sweetness. They thrive best in steep vineyards, where the berries receive plenty of sun and warmth even through late autumn. Schlossgut Diel enjoys precisely these optimal conditions for naturally sweet wines. They lend the classic fruity Prädikat wines extraordinary energy as well as a truly distinctive character and delicately fruity taste. The variety is Germany’s most frequently planted, with roughly 5,000 hectares in Rheinland-Pfalz alone. At Schlossgut Diel, where 2/3 of the vineyards are planted not just with Riesling, but in some cases with very old Riesling, there is a long and deep institutional knowledge of how to work with the variety. The Diels simply know what Riesling vines want and need, and that the variety challenges the winegrower, but rewards attention to detail with tremendous results. Far from the mainstream, these fruity Rieslings present themselves as a surprising aperitif as well as an excellent pairing partner with spicy appetizers or strong cheeses. In addition, fruity Rieslings offer thrilling, clarion refreshment, whether enjoyed in their youth or maturity. This list includes excellent wines such as:
